Philosophy Statement

We believe that a high-impact, We believe that a high-impact, long-term residential treatment environment is the best option for certain adolescents who are struggling with perpetually unchanging, self-defeating behavior.

We have dedicated ourselves to establishing such a program at Island View – a comprehensive treatment environment in which young people in crisis can overcome the full spectrum of personal obstacles and, in time, can become whole again.

This philosophy is reflected in our dedication to achieving the following objectives:

Meeting the individual academic, social, emotional and behavioral needs of each student.
Providing a structured, positive environment in which all students can have a success-oriented experience.
Developing appropriate behaviors that will lead to smooth transition to our students’ homes and home schools.
Designing and implementing individualized treatment plans to help students develop communication and relationship skills, strengthen personal identity and foster pro-social attitudes and behaviors.
Empowering parents and other family members to improve family dynamics and create more supportive and productive relationships.
